Will took my professional headshot a couple of months ago, and I couldn't be more pleased. I needed a nice photograph of myself to use on LinkedIn, etc. and I wanted something that didn't look stiff or corporate (or like an actor's headshot). Will immediately understood what I meant and is in general a great communicator. It's hard sometimes when you don't have the vocabulary of a professional in the field to describe what exactly you want.
We shot in several locations and in several lights so that I'd have options appropriate for different uses. I'm using my favorite now as my LinkedIn and Facebook profile photos. I've never gotten so many likes on a Facebook photo--ever. Everyone just howled with excitement. Will made me looks as good as I ever could, but also still like myself. He has a very easy way about him, and I think because he made me feel so comfortable, he was able to record an accurate (but completely flattering) image.
I ordered three retouched images because I couldn't choose a favorite they were all so good. I'll be able to use these photos for years. Will has a terrific eye [and] is worth every penny.

I have long been an admirer of Shooting Stars Pro owner, Will Star's body of art photography. Over the past year, I've hired Shooting Stars Pro on a number of occasions at East River Tattoo: shooting portraits and working candids of the tattoo artists, interior shots for promotion, as well as casual and unobtrusive coverage of shop events. I have always been thrilled with the beauty of the results and the professionalism with which he and his team works. I have recommended Shooting Stars Pro to many friends for weddings and former colleagues for special events and they have enjoyed the same high caliber of service.
Yesterday, however, tipped the scales for me. Having read on greenpointers.com about a charity event (Threads for Teens mobile boutique for girls in foster care) that we were hosting down the street from his studio, Will showed up with his gear and volunteered his time and images for the cause. He put a gaggle of teenagers at ease (not an easy task) with his friendly demeanor and immediately emailed me a slew of gorgeous photos for the organization to use as promotion for fundraisers. I was blown away by this simple act of altruism.

I went with Will Star's reputation as being one of Brooklyn's Best rising stars in the highly competitive private photography market. Where prices can range from cheap to astronomical and the quality from high end to what looks like your ten year old took with their iPhone and an Instagram filter. You get what you pay for, research is warranted.
With diligence I clicked through his sites hoping a good match for creative and professional style with my global PR agency. It didn't take long to make a decision that he was it. It helped as well that he worked with high end brands to match our expectations. Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Moët Hennessy, MSNBC, Coca-Cola to name a few.
Needless to say the entire staff were happy and impressed of the work and I have recommended him to other agencies and colleagues as well. It doesn't get any more professional than this.

Will is a great photographer! He's taken some portraits of me, during two separate sessions, and it was a completely positive experience. He put me at ease and gave excellent direction, as I'm not used to being photographed professionally, AT ALL. I was very impressed with his expertise at using natural light sources and think I might have even learned a thing or two about lighting from him!
Having seen the portrait and wedding photography work he's produced both before and after shooting with him, I'm incredibly honored to have had the opportunity to work with him!
The turn around for the photos was quick and I'm definitely looking forward to our next shoot.
